Makaha . . . since 1963

Makaha Skateboards was founded in 1963 by Los Angeles County Lifeguard and Skateboard Hall of Fame member Larry Stevenson. Larry took the look and style of surfing to make the first modern day skateboard with all pro components. He called it “SURF SKATE.”

Makaha is proud of its roots in surfing and early skateboarding. Nearly fifty years later, Makaha continues to forge ahead with new products and innovations. Larry’s son, Curt, is guiding Makaha in the design and manufacture of both classic reproductions of the vintage original designs and modern high performance boards... all with Larry’s original Surf-Skate vibe.
